How to Apply Press-On Nails for a Natural, Secure Fit

Here's a simple step-by-step guide to applying your press-on nails at home.

Step 1: Find Your Sizes

Before applying anything, match a press-on to each natural nail. The press-on should cover your nail from side to side without overlapping the surrounding skin.

Step 2: Prep Your Natural Nails

Clean your hands and dry them thoroughly. Gently push back your cuticles and lightly buff away excess shine from the natural nail. Remove dust, lotion and oil before moving on.

Step 3: Choose Glue or Adhesive Tabs

Choose your application method based on how you want to wear your manicure.

Nail glue: a good choice when stronger, longer wear is your priority.

Adhesive tabs: useful for shorter wear, events or easier removal.

Step 4: Apply the Press-On

Position the press-on close to your cuticle without placing it directly on the skin. Lower it onto your natural nail and make sure it's sitting straight before pressing it into place.

Step 5: Hold Firmly

Apply steady pressure so the press-on makes good contact with your natural nail, including around the sides. Repeat until all ten nails are applied.

Step 6: Give the Adhesive Time to Set

Avoid immediately soaking your hands in water. If possible, apply your manicure when you won't need to shower, swim or wash dishes straight afterward.
